Jeffrey D. Zients, Founder and Managing Partner

Jeff Zients is the founder and managing partner of Portfolio Logic. He previously served as both Chairman of the Board of The Advisory Board Company and Chairman of the Board of The Corporate Executive Board Company, two business-to-business content companies.

Jeff joined these companies in 1992 and served in various senior management roles in both firms. As Chairman of the Board of both companies, he led the 1999 IPO of The Corporate Executive Board (NASDAQ: EXBD) and the 2001 IPO of The Advisory Board Company (NASDAQ: ABCO). During his tenure with the two companies, their combined market capitalization rose from $30 million to over $2 billion. The companies combined market capitalization today is over $3 billion and together they employ over 2,500 staff in the Washington DC area.

Jeff is an active member of several boards which have a focus in healthcare, including the Children’s National Medical Center, on which he has served as Chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee; Revolution Health, a holding company investing in consumer-driven healthcare; Best Practices, a provider of emergency medicine outsourcing services, and PSA Healthcare, a provider of pediatric nursing services. Jeff is also a member of the Board of Directors of Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI), one of the leading satellite media companies, delivering satellite entertainment and data services, and Timbuk2 Designs, a messenger bag and apparel retailer.

Jeff previously co-led the Washington Baseball Club, a prominent group of business and community leaders who partnered with the D.C. government for seven years to return Major League Baseball to the Nation’s Capital.
